Well what i have done for the last 3 days as a trainer.. to my opinion trainer job is only to train people but now i have so many things to do except training and what's more my training section is only 3 times a week on tuesday wednesday and thursday. and the time is 2.30 till 4.30 and the rest of the time is the dirty jobs lah... open lab for teacher lah ... if you wanna know somemore you just read my reflection report below lah...


REFLECTION REPORT (daily)

School: Juying Secondary School

Context of experience:


Today was the first day in Juying Secondary. When I reach the school I was told to report to the HOD of IT, Miss Belinda so I spent 20 minutes just to look for her coz I got lost in between the blocks. When I found her she told me to look for TA Sue which is in the Lab where I should be. So I spend another 20 minutes finding the block . When I mange to find the room the TA was not there so I waited for another 30 minutes for her to come back and open up the room for me. By the time I switch on the computer to check my email for the handover report it was already 12pm. After going through the handover report I was told to do the immediate and outstanding pending task. So I started doing the video editing first because that is the most familiar. Then I browse through the computer and found they are using Ulead Video Studio 8. Since I am not familiar with that software I took my time to explore the software first then I did the video editing. After finished editing I exported it out to avi format. Then I surf the net and enter their school portal to find out more about the school. The school has a forum and the students and teacher are able to communicate actively. The forum is for them to share idead encouragement or give feedbacks.

Context of experience:

Today the HOD come to meet me and brief me about what I must do (daily task).
So today I asked the TA to teach me how to install SDRAM. I manage to finish almost all computers but I was stopped because there is class coming in to have lesson. Then I start the daily task that is opening the lab at the specific time so that the teachers can come in for lesson and after the lesson ends I have to lock up the room or prepare the room for the next class. The 2nd daily task is to monitor their portal forum so as to make sure that there are no vulgarities or any negativity that should not be there. If there is I am suppose to print 2 copies, 1 is for my reference and the other one is to the HOD., and then delete the entry. In the evening I have a class (sec 1a3) teaching Microsoft word. As this is the first time I am teaching am very nervous and worried that if the class could not understand the lesson. At the end of the lesson everything was going fine and smooth but only 90% of the class pass up their project because they forgot to save their project and just shut down their work. After the class dismiss I check that all the computer is shut off and lock up the room. Then I went to my desk to monitor the portal again and also check tomorrow schedule. Lastly I find sources in the internet for tomorrow class .

Context of experience:

As soon as I reach the school and reach my desk I open up my email to check whether
There is any email from ACP then I check the school portal and check the schedule for today. Open up labs for teachers to use on time and lock it afterwards.

Then there is a teacher whom came in and asks me about video cam and asks me to fix it in her class. So I went to her class and set the camera up and taught her the simple function of the video cam and how to rec, stop and zooming in and out.. Then I went for lunch.

After lunch I prepare notes for my next class. While preparing one of the teacher told me to look after his class for awhile. So I monitor them for 30minutes and when the teacher came back I went back to my room and finish up the notes that I am preparing and go for printing.

After the lesson I go back to my desk and prepare for tomorrow lesson. Then a student came in to my room and asks me whether I could help her in her project so I go help her and after finishing I went up and finish up the notes.

Context of experience:


The lesson was delayed due to the Students whom forgot their password so they can’t enter to the computer system. So I have to organize them to share computer but still do individual work. Firstly they do not want to cooperate so I told them if they do not hand in their project by the end of the lesson the class will be extended till 5.30pm.

When Microsoft Word document have open I realize that they do not have any problem with the software so after an 30 minutes introduction to the course and what the software uses the student requested me to show sample of what the should do. So I teach them step by step how to open up documents and inserting text. What I realize is that most of them knows how to use Microsoft word just after a few minutes of briefing. The class was very noisy and the students keep disturbing one another but in the end most of them manage to finish up their assignment. What surprise me most is that almost 80% of the students do not know how to save their project after they have finish up their assignments. Some of the students forget to save their project and just shut down the computer. So they end up not submitting their work, so I told them that they have to hand in their assignment on their next class with me.

Well i have not yet updated today and tomorow happenings if i have time i will update it.. anyway even my blog info i have not edited... no time lah anyway... wish me luck for today lesson hope not like yesterday lah.... yesterday all the student never come... hope today the student come..... tomorrow last day here so happy no need to wake up so early and rush down to here.....
